Sint Maarten is a member of the ILO through its territorial ties with the Kingdom of the Netherlands (a founding member of the ILO since 28 June 1919). Sint Maarten is subject to the ratification and application of key ILO Conventions extended to the country through these ties with the Netherlands. 

ILO’s capacity building and technical assistance in Sint Maarten focused on mechanisms to motivate post-disaster recovery and adjustments of businesses affected by hurricanes, business resilience for economic prosperity and social dialogue for greater inclusion to encourage human-centred approaches to labour solutions.
