Meeting of Experts to Adopt Flag State Guidelines for the Implementation of the Work in Fishing Convention

The purpose of the Meeting was to consider and adopt flag State guidelines for the implementation of the Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (No. 188).

The Meeting was attended by seven experts nominated by the Employers’ group and eight experts nominated by the Workers’ group of the Governing Body; and seven experts nominated by the Governments of Argentina, Brazil, Morocco, Namibia, Norway, Spain and Thailand. There were also observer experts from interested governments as well as observers from international governmental organizations (IGOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

The Meeting adopted the Guidelines on flag State inspection of working and living conditions on board fishing vessels
