Impact of social policies adopted in response to the COVID-19 pandemic on informal employment in Argentina

Informal employment is one of the most challenging features of labour markets today. The aim of this report, focusing on the situation of Argentina in the process of COVID-recovery, is to facilitate the development of a comprehensive methodology for assessing the impact and effectiveness of policies on labour markets, employment and social protection, with special attention accorded to labour informality and gender gaps. It is hoped that the study will help improve policy design and enhance protection for informal workers during future crises, with a goal of accelerating their recovery from the pandemic and promoting their formalization.
