The International Labour Organization (ILO) Türkiye Office met with relevant public institutions, workers' and employers' organizations, private sector representatives and relevant women's organizations in Ankara on 8 May 2024 to exchange views on the gender-sensitive, safe and effective complaint and support mechanism model it is developing to prevent violence and harassment in the world of work.

At the meeting, which was organized as part of the work carried out by the ILO Office for Türkiye in the context of the ILO Convention No. 190 on the Elimination of Violence and Harassment, national and international experts provided information on national and international complaint and resolution mechanisms to address violence and harassment, as well as models implemented through collective bargaining agreements and national legislation, in relation to examples at the global level. Experts presented the recommendations in the Model being developed by the ILO for Türkiye in line with the Convention, and participating parties expressed their views and suggestions on the model.

At the workshop, National Consultant Lawyer Umut Çiftçi made a presentation on the existing national legislation on the prevention of violence and harassment in Türkiye and the methods and procedures followed in cases of violence and harassment.
