The care economy and decent work in Sri Lanka: Opportunities, challenges and future trends

This is a study on care services in Sri Lanka, highlighting the opportunities and challenges in the care sector and future trends related to the demand and supply of care services for individuals over the age of 65 and children under the age of 5. It provides a situational analysis of the current care sector and provides insights into the needs of care receivers and care providers in both formal and informal settings. The study also contributes towards creating a discussion on decent work and labour rights for care providers. Based on the findings, the study offers recommendations in areas of related to the care provision model, skills development, and the policy and legal environment.
