Australia currently funds 4 ILO development cooperation projects worldwide

US$ 8.9 million

Australia has contributed US$8.9 million to ILO voluntary non-core funding in 2018-23

Australia is a founding Member State of the ILO and a key partner of the ILO in promoting the Decent Work Agenda. 

The cooperation between Australia and the ILO is channelled through cooperation agreements with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) - Australian Aid and the Australian Attorney-General's Department

Projects financed by Australia focus on:

  • Safe and Fair Labour Migration 
  • Improving of social protection coverage and;
  • Promoting the implementation of ILO Standards in Pacific Island Countries.
